Administrative Buffoonery: Fourth-Grader Arrested For Bringing Scissors To School

Asshat
Say Anything has another example of Adminstrative Buffoonery at its worst. What happened is that Porsche Brown, a ten-year-old girl in a Philadelphia Elementary School, was handcuffed and arrested by the police after she brought a pair of her mother's scissors to school.

The school's zero tolerance policy forbids anything that can be construed as a weapon from being brought on campus.
  • Was the girl brandishing the deadly weapon at a teacher? No
  • Did she use the scissors to intimidate another child in order to extort lunch money? No
  • Was Porsche holding the custodian at bay while he tried to get the scissors away from her? No
Holme Elementary School Prinicipal Ethel M. Cabry called the police after the dangerous lethel weapon was found in the child's bookbag. Without notifying parents, the principal then called the police who came and took the crying girl into custody.

Good going, Ms.Cabry. You've managed to traumatize a 10-year-old kid just in time for the holidays. The corner and a dunce cap for you.
