Administrative Buffoonery: Fourth-Grader Arrested For Bringing Scissors To School
Say Anything has another example of Adminstrative Buffoonery at its worst. What happened is that Porsche Brown, a ten-year-old girl in a Philadelphia Elementary School, was handcuffed and arrested by the police after she brought a pair of her mother's scissors to school.
The school's zero tolerance policy forbids anything that can be construed as a weapon from being brought on campus.
- Was the girl brandishing the deadly weapon at a teacher? No
- Did she use the scissors to intimidate another child in order to extort lunch money? No
- Was Porsche holding the custodian at bay while he tried to get the scissors away from her? No
Good going, Ms.Cabry. You've managed to traumatize a 10-year-old kid just in time for the holidays. The corner and a dunce cap for you.
