Kerik Blows Opportunity

What The ??
For the last 12 hours, Drudge has been flashing the news that Bush's choice for Director of Homeland Security, Bernard Kerik, has withdrawn his nomination for the post.

It seems as though Kerik has been having a servant problem. In the true spirit of Zoe Baird, Kerik was using illegal immigrants for household help. And somehow he just "forgot" to pay the taxes that employers are supposed to pay on employees.

It has been disclosed that this guy is worth millions of dollars, and has been doing very well for himself in the many years since he was an underpaid beat cop in New York City.

With his money, he could have hired Mary Poppins to rear his children.

We are amazed that people who have this kind of money will hire people on the cheap to take care of their children. It puzzles us that people like this will spend money like proverbial drunken sailors when buying a car, condo, cruise, vacation homes, or expensive restaurant dinners, but when it comes to the people that work in their home, they go for super cheap. We have seen this time after time.

It leaves us wondering...
