American Taxpayer Once Again Subsidizing Palestinian "Authority"

Do you know why Terrorist Mahmoud Abbas is so happy? We here at the 'Wonks do. Reuters News Service is telling us that President Bush is sending $20,000,000 in direct cash aid payoffs to the Palestinian "Authority." Incredibly, this money is supposed to be used to pay overdue utility bills. What a ridiculous and asinine concept. And here is why.

If my neighbor gives me a hundred dollars to pay my electric bill, that frees up the hundred dollars from my bank account that I was going to use to pay the bill. I can now write a check and use the money in my account for something else, like a few weapons, for example. It really is that simple.

So..what do we have here? The so-called Palestinian Authority Mafia now has an extra twenty million dollars that it can use to hand-out sinecures like they were Halloween candy. Oh yes, and before we forget, the families of various suicide bombers murderers of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades will receive a little extra for the holidays.

We here at the 'Wonks are quite sure that Terrorist Abbas and his circle of murderous thugs are highly appreciative of the donation.

For the foreseeable future, the Palestinian "Authority" will continue to be a study in corruption, nepotism, and terror.

We are saddened that President Bush and Congress have turned on the spigot. Why should the taxpayer "foot the bill" for these scoundrels?
