Two Friends Who Made The Supreme Sacrifice

Remember...
In their Veterans Day broadcasts, both ABC and NBC News profiled two young Marines that made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of all of us. In a haunting echo of today's earlier post, "Flanders' Fields", former classmates Jeremiah A. Baro and Jared P. Hubbard had joined the Marines after finishing high school. They enlisted right after 9/11.

The best of friends, they had shared childhood, sports, and faith.

Having helped liberate Baghdad, the young Marines volunteered for a second tour of duty. They returned to Iraq and were there for only a week, when, on November 4th, they were killed by small-arms fire.

Corporal Baro and Lance Corporal Hubbard were buried today. Friends in life, they were laid to rest as brothers.
