From The Leave Those Kids Alone Department: Two In Nevada

The bad thing is the Las Vegas Sun has a shocking story of two Clark County Nevada teachers that have just had their teaching credentials revoked by the state.

  1. Newell Earl Leavitt, middle school teacher in Henderson, plead guilty to a charge of statutory seduction of a teenager and is now serving a 2-8 year prison term.
  2. Byron Covert, elementary school teacher in Laughlin, that plead guilty to the possession of child pornography. This miscreant didn't even get any jail time, but has been sentenced to 5 years of probation.

The worse thing is the relatively light sentences that these criminals received for their crimes.

The worst thing is that it took the State of Nevada more than three years to getting around to revoking these teachers' credentials after they confessed to their crimes.
