Schoolhouse Tragedy In Cambodia

This is just awful news. It is being reported that masked gunman took over a school in the tourist town of Siem Reap. While holding both children and staff hostage, the criminals shot one 3-year-old Canadian boy in the head because he was "crying too much."

The city has a large contingent of foreign residents, many of which send their children to Siem Reap International School. There are students from over 15 different countries that attend the school.

After a six-hour standoff, the gunmen were finally taken into custody. But the incident was not yet over. A crowd of angry residents grabbed three of the hostage-takers from the authorities, and began beating and kicking them before the police finally re-established order.

It remains unknown what political agenda, if any, the attackers had, but they did demand cash and a getaway vehicle.
