School District Wants To Keep Homemade Food At Home

In Lincoln County, North Carolina, the school board has put parents on notice that their homemade foods are no longer welcome at school events:
Homemade goodies are out and store-bought snacks are in after the Lincoln County School Board gave final approval Wednesday to a policy limiting what foods can be brought into schools.

The new rules require any food brought in for school functions to be purchased from restaurants or stores that receive an inspection from the county health department.

The district says the new policy is meant to help prevent food poisoning and to better protect students with food allergies.

But the news isn't all bad. Johnny and Suzie can still bring bag lunches from home.
