British Government Funds Teaching Of Gay And Lesbian Awareness

The BBC is announcing that the British Government is partially funding a series of events next month during what the BBC refers to a "Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Trans-gender Month." The government's share of the expenses is some $30,000, which is designated to fund the project's website.

Among other objectives of the month-long observance is the raising of pupils' awareness concerning issues of Homophobic bullying.

The planned activities include poetry competitions, films, and discussions about the sexuality of famous historical persons such as William Shakespeare and Florence Nightingale.

Isn't that special?
