When A District Hates Its Teachers

What happened when Polski3 asked his principal for a few minutes out of the classroom in order to go see his son receive an award at a nearby elementary school in the same district is the best worst example that I've seen of type of petty belittling of its own employees that some school districts routinely engage in

This is especially the case in those states (such as California) where veteran teachers are effectively prevented from transferring to other districts by arcane rules that base a teacher's pay upon the number of years that the teacher has been employed by that district.

It's sorta like being shackled to a job with an invisible monetary chain.
