Principal John Grady's Really, Really, Really Bad Day
It seems as though there's been another instance of gunplay down in the Lone Star State:
ODESSA, Texas — A junior high principal who allegedly fired a gun on school property turned himself in Thursday on a felony weapons charge, officials said.Heh. Maybe all the pressure caused by the TAKS Testing Season finally got to him.
Van Grady, 57, posted $10,000 bond on a charge of possession of a weapon in a prohibited area.
The Crockett Junior High School principal allegedly fired the shot Feb. 24 in his office, sending a bullet through a wall and into a hallway. No one was injured and officials said classes were not disrupted.
Grady initially attributed the sound to firecrackers but authorities found two pistols in his vehicle on campus while executing a search warrant. Ector County Independent School District officials placed Grady on paid administrative leave and said he would be replaced.
