A Lesson In Applied Physics

Even though he hasn't finished primary school, nine-year old Jontel Baritua, of Medford, Oregon wants to be a professional pool player.

Since he's just qualified to compete against hundreds of grownups in the national championships, I'd say that this third-grader is well on his way.

When I was Jontel's age, the only thing that we did that even came close was playing marbles "for keeps."

I was much better at trading marbles than I was at shooting them.
