A New Paradigm For School Boards?

Bryan Hassel is guestblogging over at Eduwonk.com. He has put up a nifty post about a commission that has been formed to study means of restructuring the troubled Los Angeles Unified School District.

We like Bryan's recommendation that the commission read
this report written by Paul T. Hill of the Progressive Policy Institute that advocates a new role for school boards.

The idea of a school board focusing its efforts on an educational program's performance rather than money and patronage is appealing to us.

The report's 22 pages make for a thought-provoking read.
